VELVET VEIL

VELVET VEIL

Through the velvet veil of night, I have slept entwined with you,
Our breaths a quiet symphony, while the dark earth spins its eternal wheel,
Carrying the living in their dreams and the dead in silent repose.
And upon the first blush of dawn, my arm awakens to encircle your waist,
A gentle anchor in the tide of waking light, drawing you closer still.
Hide me in the sanctuary of your arms, if only for this fleeting tonight,
As the rain unleashes its fury against the restless sea and unyielding earth,
Drumming a wild rhythm on waves that crash and shores that endure.
Let your embrace be my fortress against the storm's relentless howl,
Where thunder whispers secrets and lightning etches fleeting maps across the sky.
In that sacred territory, from the graceful arch of your feet to the curve of your brow,
I shall wander like a pilgrim through landscapes of silk and shadow,
Tracing rivers of veins, climbing hills of whispered promises,
Discovering hidden valleys where your laughter echoes like distant bells.
Here, in the geography of your form, I shall spend my life exploring,
Unfolding mysteries with every step, every touch a revelation anew.
Sleep now in the echo of my name, as you have slumbered upon the beat of my heart,
Love, where pulses merge like rivers joining the vast ocean of us.
Let dreams weave us tighter, beyond the grasp of time's indifferent hands,
For in this union, we defy the spinning world, the rain's lament,
And awaken eternally in the warmth of one another's eternal dawn.
