BEHIND THE SCREEN

Behind the ScreenYou hide, a coward cloaked in pixels,
Behind the cold glow of text messages and emails,
Your words, passive-aggressive arrows,
Aimed with precision at the bull’s eye of my heart.
Each message laden with incantations,
Spells cast below the belt, meant to wound unseen,
Yet you, incapable of owning your flaws,
Dodge responsibility like a shadow in the night.
Like the fingers that curl back towards you,
When you point at me with accusations plentiful,
Your approach, unbalanced, teetering on the edge,
Juggling multiple lives, hearts scattered like confetti.
Your candor, so superior, blinds you,
Obvious to all but your own reflection,
You judge, a self-appointed commander,
Dispensing rulings, slander, half-truths from your throne.
As if dysfunction and imperfection were foreign lands to me,
Yet I’ve navigated their treacherous paths,
While you stumble, blind to your own missteps.

But I see you, unmasked, in the harsh light of truth.
