MidNIGHT'S ECHO
Midnight’s Echo
The clock hums shadows, the night lies still,
I’m sleepless, bound by your distant will.
Your touch, a phantom, brushes my skin,
A fleeting warmth where absence begins.
It’s late, so late, the stars hold their breath,
I teeter between love and the brink of regret.
The past unwinds, a fragile thread,
Moments we wove now faintly spread.
Laughter and glances, once bold and clear,
Fade into silence, year by year.
I’m falling, I’m falling, through time’s vast sea,
Chasing the ghost of what used to be.
It’s late, so late, the moon’s soft gleam,
Casts light on doubts that haunt my dream.
Do you still see me, or am I a shade?
Does faith in us flicker, or simply fade?
Does your heart echo this midnight plea,
Or am I the spark that ceased to be?
Do you ever wonder, do you still care?
Am I the burden you no longer share?
Do you feel this fracture, or is it mine alone,
A weight of blame I can’t atone?
It’s late, so late, the night won’t bend,
Too late to reach you, too late to mend.
You drift in sleep, serene and far,
While I unravel beneath the stars.
Yet in this quiet, a truth takes hold,
This ache might forge a heart more bold.
To rise, to heal, to claim my dawn,
Beyond this night, where hope is drawn.
It’s late, so late, but light will break,
And with it, strength for my own sake.
