"FOR ALEX"
"FOR ALEX"
Another one bites the dust, abyss calling swift,
Rapid-cycling through them nights she drift.
Black-holes of addiction, got her sinking slow,
Exhausted all avenues, got nowhere to go.
Internalizing secrets, held harder than steel,
Inhale lines, twenty bills, that’s the real deal.
Shaved pounds off her frame, vitality lost and gone,
Stubborn like a tank, insanity marching on.
No army strong enough, to breach the walls she built,
Her court of fear, won’t let no sunshine tilt.
Smirk so cold, intimidates attempts to love,
Rationale elusive, like a ghost from above.
Fighting fear, iron grip on her soul,
Throat tight, voice choked, aimless she roams.
Intelligence wasted, drying up like a drought,
Life on twenty-dollar highs, that thin razor line,
Dancing with shadows, time slipping blind.
Vitality a whisper, spent youth denied,
All for the thrill, darkness as her guide.
Addiction a chain, links forged in pain,
Her kingdom of misery, driving insane.
Army of nations couldn't tear her walls apart,
Love a stranger, never touched her heart.
