Circus of Silence

Circus of Silence
Circus of silence lies under our feet,
papercut tigers are starting to bleed.
You sway on the wire, so high, so remote—
just say you’re sorry. That’s all that I want.
Words you won’t say,
you don’t feel their weight like I do.
The lights fade to black,
the show will be over soon.
It’s not the curtain that’s ending the day—
I want to walk out, I’m ready to leave.
But I need you to say you’re sorry, just once.
I didn’t break us. I’m not the one.
I believed in the storybook once, not anymore.
If you see the man behind the mask, tell him I’m gone.
Words mean nothing when you never let them land.
The music is dying, the show will be over soon.
I want that one word you lock deep inside.
You hand me the blame, then you step aside.
I wash my hands clean—watch me walk away.
I’m sorry for you. That’s all I’ll say.
It’s not the curtain that’s ending the day—
I want to walk out, I’m ready to leave.
But I need you to say you’re sorry, just once.
I didn’t break us. I’m not the one.
Let it land. Let it go. Let it finally be done.C
