WE COLLIDED

We Collided

We collided with the force of a semi-truck,

T-boning a sedan in a violent clash—

Metal twisting, glass exploding across the asphalt,

Nothing subtle or light about the wreckage we became.

Your "interest" struck with surgical precision,

A calculated move masked as spontaneity,

Hitting me hard, a freight train through my defenses.

I felt the air shift, the ground tilt beneath me,

Pulled into your chaos, your magnetic storm,

A collision I couldn’t swerve to avoid.

That blonde hair, spilling like sunlight over endless fields,

And blue eyes, sharp and deep as a cloudless sky,

Were weapons you wielded without apology.

They softened my edges, unraveled my resolve,

Convincing me to chase you, to run headlong

Into whatever wild adventure you dreamed up next—

A midnight drive to nowhere, a leap into the unknown,

Promises of freedom whispered in the dark.

I teetered on the brink, ready to abandon all,

Caught in the spell of your reckless, radiant pull.

I recall the endless chain of late nights,

Hours bleeding past 4am, into the gray of dawn,

When the world slept, but we defied its rhythm.

Tangled in sheets, in secrets, in half-spoken truths,

We traded sleep for something fiercer—

Your voice in my ear, your breath on my skin,

The weight of morning looming, ignored.

Work called, duties clawed at the edges of my mind,

But I chose you instead, night after night,

Drowning in the thrill of us, the cost be damned.

Intentionally, I surrendered hours of rest,

To carve you into my memory like a tattoo—

Each line deliberate, each detail a stab of ink.

The curve of your smile, sharp as a blade,

The heat of your hands, the scent of your hair,

The stories you spun, wild and untamed,

All etched into the soft tissue of my mind.

It hurt to hold you there, but I wanted the pain,

The permanence of you branded deep,

A mark to carry when the nights faded to nothing.

In those stolen moments, we forged our chapter,

Dysfunctional, jagged, yet alive with fire,

A story stitched together with lust and longing.

Curiosity drove us—reckless, blind choices,

Kisses that bruised, promises we’d never keep.

We danced around the fallout, procrastinating truth,

Ignoring the shadows creeping closer—

The fights we buried, the trust we chipped away,

The end we both saw but refused to name.

We lived for the now, burning too bright to last.

And when the flames died, when the smoke cleared,

I stood among the ashes of what we’d been,

The echoes of our collision ringing in my chest.

We’d teetered on the edge of ecstasy and ruin,

A tightrope walk between passion and collapse.

The repercussions came, as they always would—

A heart scuffed raw, a quiet that stings—

But still, I trace the tattoos you left behind,

Proof of a love that wrecked me,
