THROUGH THE VEIL

Through the Veil

My soul is a shadowed room, draped in veils of silk,

Don’t strain to see through the folds—there’s no truth in the milk.

If you seek to know me, don’t linger at the door,

Just knock, and I’ll answer—what’s hidden is no more.

I walk with the weight of a key, turning locks as I go,

My path is a map of the stars, where I’m bound, you’ll soon know.

For the greatest sin is to stand at the edge,

Hands idle, eyes blind, as the world teeters on the ledge.

You must step beyond the mirror, beyond the skin you wear,

Think beyond the borders of your mind’s narrow lair.

Walk where the streets grow wild, where the familiar fades,

And see what the silence whispers in the neighborhood’s shades.

Tell me, who haunts your dreams? That specter I’ll become,

Not to be loved for my face, but for the battles you’ve won.

You call me the outcast, the daughter of dissent,

But I wield words like wildfire, where truth is heaven-sent.

My voice is a river, carving canyons through stone,

Wetter than tears, hotter than the sun’s fiery throne.

I have kin in the corners of this fractured earth,

Souls I’ve never touched, yet we share the same birth.

Lovers whose gazes I’ve caught in a fleeting breath,

Strangers who’ll carry my name long after my death.

I was a seed in the soil, slow to break through the crust,

I’ll be a whisper in the wind, a memory in the dust.

You’ve got a lifetime to rise, but the clock ticks fast,

So why not reach for the flame before the moment’s passed?

Don’t wait for the courage to call when the fight feels too steep,

For what you think is real is yours alone to keep.

But if you’re ready to stand for the truth you ignite,

Then speak—and I’ll walk beside you into the light.
