INTO THE DEPTHS

Into the Depths

I hold the flicker of your essence, a fragile flame in my palm,

A tender pulse of warmth, a whisper of calm.

I think I know your currents, the tides that pull you near,

I think I’ve found a harbor, where the waters are clear.

But I’ve shed my chains of caution,

My sight is blurred by the thrill,

I’ve tasted the edge of the night,

And it’s bending my will.

I could leap from this vessel,

Trust the waves to cradle my fall,

For there’s more beyond these timbers—

A world that answers my call.

Let them whisper “mad” if I falter,

Or “genius” if I rise,

Their words are fleeting shadows,

Lost beneath the skies.

I move untethered by the earth,

Racing with the sound,

I’ll wade into the shallows

Until the depths are found.

I sway between the weary

And the fire that won’t relent,

Spent yet sparking,

A paradox of intent.

I’ve built my realm from remnants,

From scraps and dreams unseen,

I rule a throne of whispers,

Where the overlooked convene.

I lack the maps of others,

But I’ve glimpsed a truth profound,

I climb the edge of reason,

Careful not to look down.

I’ll dive like a bird into the fray,

Where the waters teem with teeth,

I’ll cast off the last of my armor,

And stir the chaos beneath.

For I’ve got dreams beyond surviving,

I’ve got visions of the shore,

Your touch still hums within me,

And the sky promises more.

I cradle the weight of my being,

As the world pitches and sways,

My limbs dance with the tempest,

In this storm, I find my ways.

I just need a breath, a signal,

For the journey yet to come,

A little bird sang of falling,

And how it feels like kingdom come.

Let them call me reckless if I stumble,

Or wise if I endure,

I need but one chance in a million,

And I’ll make it pure.

Gravity is but a whisper,

I soar at the speed of light,

I’ll step into the shallows
