 BIG BEAUTIFUL SKY

In the vast expanse of my longing sky,

You appear, a comet, and I wonder why

My heart races at the sight of your glow,

Why I feel this pull, this need to know.  

Streaking through the darkness, you ignite

A fire within, a desperate flight

To understand, to reach, to connect,

Yet the void between us, I can’t neglect.  

With each moment, you seem to draw near,

Your laughter, your words, I hold them dear.

But still, you soar in your own sphere,

Leaving me here, with hope and fear.  

Will our orbits ever entwine,

Or will you remain forever divine?

A question that burns, like your fiery trail,

A deep curiosity, a love unveiled.  

Almost close enough to touch, to hold,

Yet the story between us, still untold.
