THROUGH EVERY NIGHT

Through Every Sky

It’s been a while since you’ve been near,

I’ve wandered like a restless breeze,

From Paris streets to Rome’s grand tiers,

Seen domes that gleam and skies that seize.

I’ve lain beneath the Spanish sun,

But nothing rivals the violet of your gaze.

Do you recall the seas,

Where turquoise waves met golden shores?

I swore I’d keep each memory,

Your smile, our paths, forevermore.

In every place, in every hue,

I find the echo of your hazel eyes.

Seasons shift, and years unwind,

Time feels like glass, too thin to hold.

Yet something lasts beyond the grind—

Your gaze, a thread of timeless gold.

For everywhere I turn, I see

The hazel  light that never dies.

If I could send a note to you,

Through winds or waves, through time or space,

I’d struggle still to say what’s true—

This hollow ache, this tender trace.

I’ll always miss you, that’s my truth,

And everywhere I go, I see your hazel eyes.

It was Christmas in Hawaii’s embrace,

We laughed in sands, we danced in tides.

Then July came, our last shared grace,

I held your hand as light subsided.

Now, every night, in dreams, you’re near,

Your gaze upon me, soft and clear,

I feel your hazel eyes.

Seasons come, and seasons pass,

Time’s fragile as a mirror’s face.

But something holds, something lasts—

Your love, a constant, endless grace.

For in the quiet, when I close my eyes,

I see you still, through every sky,

Your hazel eyes.
