BENEATH THE TIDES

Beneath the Tides

I.

I met you where the shadows bend,

A silhouette carved by the wind’s rough hand.

Your eyes—two tides that pull me in,

A restless blue where daylight ends.

I’ve counted sparks in burning air,

Fifteen waves that flare and fade,

A secret storm you barely share,

Reflected in the depths you’ve made.

II.

It’s not fair—

The way your gaze unravels me,

A quiet flood I can’t outrun.

I tremble here,

Teetering on a cliff so steep,

Drawn to drown where you’ve begun.

Each look a current, swift and deep,

A sea that whispers, “Stay, become.”

III.

I’ve roamed a world that lost its sight,

Gray streets dissolving in my mind.

Your thoughts, like gems, cut through the night,

A brilliance time could not confine.

I lingered once, a cautious guest,

Befriended by the years you’ve known,

Yet found no peace, no place to rest,

Adrift where your blue tides have grown.

IV.

It’s not fair—

How tears rise like the swelling sea,

When you turn those waves on me.

I’m fragile here,

Climbing heights I’ve never dared,

Falling where your waters breathe.

The skies could split, the earth could flare,

But your eyes hold eternity.

V.

Now listen—

I hear the echo of your soul,

A murmur from the ocean’s core.

I’m poised to leap, to lose control,

To chase what lies beyond the shore.

In every ripple, every gleam,

I see a dream, a fragile plea—

A love as wild as it serene,
