HIGH TIDE
HIGH TIDE
Salt wind weaves through the dusk,
The finest hours I’ve ever tasted,
Your fingers locked fierce in mine.
The thought of parting stings like sea-spray,
I’d rather drift than face the shore’s cold truth.
Can we hold this tide, let it linger?
Sail soft, let the waves unfold,
No harbor calls, just us entwined.
The boat’s weathered helm pulses low,
A briny haven where we’re free.
With you beside, we’ll hunt the dusk,
Gliding through the tide’s whispered vow.
The hull’s creak sings of our nearness,
Your breath a cadence with the ocean’s sway.
Ease the rudder, let time dissolve,
No need for land’s unyielding grip.
We’ll chase the foam where moonlight fractures,
Adrift in the deep, unseen, unclaimed.
Beyond the cliffs, where gulls cry free,
We’ll shun the dawn, defy its piercing blade.
The cabin’s glass mists with our shared warmth,
No breeze to break this tender veil.
You and the sea grant space to breathe,
We’ll anchor here, in the tide’s fleeting pulse.
Lanterns cast glints on restless waves,
Your silhouette a spark in their dance.
I feel you close, a current in my veins,
This instant’s beat too sacred to release.
Not now, not shore—let’s steal more hours,
Sailing where the sea’s heart gently curves.
The constellations etch tales we’ll never know,
Each star a secret sealed in silver glow.
I’d barter dawn to keep you in my sight,
To cradle this rush, wild and unbound.
The tide’s low hymn chants our rebellion,
A pact to sail the long way, evermore.
Beneath the spray, where shadows pool,
We’ll thread through dusk, chasing boundless tides.
The world’s demands fade to a distant hum,
Your touch a beacon in the swirling dark.
Ease the helm, let’s outpace the end,
Bound to the night that weaves us whole.
I recall the dusk we swore to roam,
When gulls wheeled high and hope was sharp.
Each crest we crossed felt like forever,
Now etched in salt upon my skin.
Sail slow, let’s defy the morning’s call,
Clinging to the sea that holds our truth.
Salt wind, endless dusk,
The purest joy I’ve ever seized.
Your hand in mine, a lifeline through the mist,
I plead the stars to halt the rising flame.
Sail soft, my love, let’s never touch the shore,
Forever caught in the tide’s eternal sway.
