THROUGH THE CRACKS

THROUGH THE CRACKS

Insecurities slither through the cracks,

A venomous brood beneath my acts,

They coil in silence, fangs bared to strike,

Waiting to pounce with a predator’s spike,

A creeping plague no will can retract.

Influences bend under their weight,

A warped lens twists each fragile fate,

Blurred vision smears the world in haze,

Events unravel in a fevered maze,

A kaleidoscope of doubt’s cruel bait.

Hallucinations bloom from shadowed dread,

Fears ignite like sparks in a mind half-dead,

The air hums thick with phantom cries,

Reality frays through trembling eyes,

A mirage stitched from terror’s thread.

Envy seeps in, a green-veined rot,

Possessing judgment in a stranglehold knot,

Irrationality reigns with a tyrant’s crown,

It floods the skull, pulls reason down,

A bitter tide no logic can blot.

Mindsets harden, jagged and cold,

Impossible to soothe, to gently fold,

They rise like cliffs, sheer and bleak,

Deaf to whispers that truth might speak,

A fortress locked in mistrust’s hold.

Explanations drift, a muted plea,

Words dissolve in your silence’s sea,

They could shatter the doubts you weave,

Unframe the guilt you make me grieve,

But your ears are stone—I can’t break free.

Self-worth starves in a barren sprawl,

A wasteland choked by an endless fall,

Roadblocks loom, monoliths of rust,

No path detours through this ashen dust,

A prison built by my own thrall.

The hunger gnaws, a hollowed scream,

Eroding hope in a relentless stream,

Each doubt you cast, a brick in place,

Seals me in this desolate space,

A ghost trapped in your warped dream.
