SIDESWIPED
SIDESWIPED
At seventeen, love hit hard—
A sudden blow, breath stolen fast,
Feet torn from earth, I stumbled, cast
Into a fall I couldn’t guard.
Her presence pulled, a force unseen,
Blonde hair a glow, blue eyes a gleam,
A magnet drawing me supreme,
Binding us tight in youth’s wild dream.
Emotions surged, vast and grand,
Too big to hold, they slipped my hand,
Swallowed me up, a boundless sea,
I lost myself in her, set free.
Her fingers locked with mine, so shy,
A simple touch, a soft reply,
On November’s chill, beneath the sky,
Her warmth pressed close, my feet would lie.
Toes brushed hers, a quiet fire,
Love crept in, stoking desire,
A flutter spun within my core,
Motion sick—I craved her more.
Blonde strands fell like dawn’s first light,
Blue eyes a tide, deep and bright,
At seventeen, she swept me through,
Love’s dizzy blur, both fierce and true.
