ORBIT OF YOUR GAZE
INTO THE ORBIT OF YOUR GAZE
You are the spark,
the dazzle,
the genuine gleam
that sets my smiles ablaze—
a galaxy of light
etched across my cheeks,
each curve of my lips
a glowing ember
kindled
by the soft fire
of your name on my tongue.
You are my favorite daydream,
a vision so sharp
it carves my imagination
like a sculptor’s chisel
through yielding stone,
vivid as
a sunset bleeding
across a restless sea,
intense as
thunder rolling
through a hollow sky.
I know, deep within,
those scenarios,
those hidden realms
I escape to
when my eyelids fall—
a twilight meadow
where mist curls
like phantom vines,
where clocks dissolve
into rivers of silver—
they will come true,
will rise
and take shape,
stirred to life
by the echo
of your footsteps drawing near.
The air will tremble,
alive with
the shiver of your presence,
and the edges of the world
will soften,
a fading sketch,
as you step into focus—
a dream
crystallizing
into warm, living truth.
How weak I will be—
or already am—
in the knees,
a sapling swaying
in the breath of a gale,
when I stand before you,
face to face,
your nearness
a current
dragging me down.
I’ll be free-falling,
a meteor blazing
through boundless dark,
plunging
into the depths—
the black holes
that are your beautiful eyes,
twin abysses
where stars collapse,
where time frays
and I unravel,
gladly lost
in their endless draw.
Your gaze,
a swirl of midnight and radiance,
engulfs me entirely,
and I spin,
a petal trapped
in a torrent’s dance,
yielding
to the orbit
of your steady look.
The world recedes,
a murmur on the wind,
and all that lingers
is the rhythm
of your breathing,
the arc of your smile,
and the vast, velvet night
of your eyes—
a cosmos
I’ll drift through,
eternally.
