THOUGHTS IN BUTTERFLY NETS

 Life, love, alike, bring out the best and worst parts of us; 

like a shadow, cast upon the world, and those people

who are in are corner (with us)

Wanting life to be like a buffet of emotions:

to stuff myself with passion, my inquisitive nature,

and the raw beauty of naturally-shared,

snapshots of love.

So easy, for adrenaline,

and nervousness,

to kick in,

and take over;

to consistently breaks

the speed limit.

But, how much we'd miss,

my love,

if we travel

too far

too fast

The scenery outside the car is

the symmetry of Evergreens

hundreds of years old;

standing tall and firm.

I'm content,

wrapping in nostalgia,

like a cooling blanket;

watching your drive;

subtly trying to translate

your silence,

and the current residence of your mind.
