TAKING TO THE STREETS
"TAKING TO THE STREETS"
Haunted, still, by withered hate,
moral judgment has no place;
in this debate.
Violence pouring into Virginia streets,
unrestrained,
no white hoods even cover their face.
Hate has started many things,
and has failed to solve few.
Do you think, if "they" were black,
they'd feel this way too?
There is no place for this UPRISING,
for MURDER,
by a speeding car.
America, we've done so much,
grown from our own wounds;
to allow for yet another scar.
If we are re-writing history,
then compassion should be
no mystery.
I love this country,
I love this state,
and I won't fail to be a voice,
to speak on freedoms we
all appreciate.
Trying their best,
to conquer and divide
Hoping silence will cancel
everything out,
when opposites collide
